Hello my dear friends,

I am back! I know I haven't been blogging often again. You must be thinking, 'Did she abandon her blog again..?' LOL.
No I have not abandon my blog. Just that I haven't got the brain juice to jot anything down. These few weeks I had been very busy with projects after projects, juggling as many as 3 concurrently. I sometimes am so amazed that I could do that. Must be God's grace and guidance. =)

I was away for the past 10 days in Gold Coast attending and supporting Anthony Robbins' Date With Destiny. I was not really looking forward to going one week before departure. There was so much work to do for NAC and WIMS. I just couldn't let go. I now understand why Veronica didn't approve my leave. I couldn't bear to leave for Sydney also.

This event is always so fruitful. Really a date with my destiny. This is the second time I am attending, but as a staff this time. Although I couldn't fully emerse myself in the program, I still had breakthrough. It was a different kind of experience. This time, I get to meet and interact with people in the managing level.

DATE WITH DESTINY - Customer Service
I learn that it is all about giving. The returns I get is so much more. Just a few more extra steps in customer service can make the customers feel so happy and grateful. Every little step counts. They all want to know who I am (I had been talking to them over the phone and ensuring they are ok and ready for the trip). It felt great to be appreciated. It makes me want to do even more for them.

At the end Day 4 of the 6-days program, we had an SR dinner party, where we invited all our SR customers to gather together. We had 4 different languages - Japanese, Indonesian, Taiwanese, Chinese - and also the rest of the English-speaking customers from UK, Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong. The translation was crazy! But it was interesting. It is really wonderful occasion, cos we can see that human relations have no barrier, not even the skin colour nor language.

We had so much fun that the security had to come and stop us, cos we were making too much noise. All thanks to Richard's enthusiatic screamings. LOL

I now understand why Veronica is so particular about customer service. You get all the shit, but if you can do it right, these customers can be the most loyal and your advocates! No matter how tired and challenging it may be, eventually when we get the result we want, it is all worth it. Truely amazing.

DATE WITH DESTINY - Event Support
Although I have done the supporting in the last DWD, it was not that much. Veronica thought I was not ready to take on the whole project back then. So I was only doing the registration part for the regional countries and the correspondence with Japan. That was an experience for me. I got to work with one of the elite teams in the world. Japanese are so fine and precise about their work. It makes us stay on our toes to make sure we are at the same level, if not, better.

This year, I was holding more responsibilities, especially on-site. it was a totally different experience. I learn how to work with pple, even in another place. I am grateful that Veronica give me the opportunity to let me grow. She literally did not come down to the venue through, just popping by once a while to see everything is ok, ask us out for lunch, and take us out for a short shopping spree. hehe.

Of cos I got the help from Jennifer, Steve, Lena, the China girls and the Japanese team. They were a great support to me.

I learnt how to handle flights, airport transfers, party, headset counter. At the very last day, I had to travel back alone. Was actually suppose to go back to Singapore with Richard, Veronica and Lena. But they had some urgent matters to attend to at the last minute, that they had to leave a day earlier. Initially I was afraid. Cos it is the first time I will be in a foreign country alone. But somehow I took it with stride. Thank God I have many wonderful friends. Aaron and Joseph from Taiwan were nice enough to keep me company the whole day. Till the moment I took the transfer to the airport.

Just as I thought I will be flying back alone, I found out the Indonesians are taking the same flight as me! This is so amazing. I pray for company and I got it.

Everyone was nice. There was so much love in the air. We were like a family, working hand in hand. I hope this never stops. This is what makes life worthwhile.

I look forward to the next DWD. I pray for all His guidance to make it happen.

I don't think I am able to go Sydney...

I will be leaving for Australia in 2 weeks time to assist in Date With Destiny in Gold Coast. It will be a 9-day trip, but I am not as excited about it as compared to last year. I guess it's partly becos my plan is not going to happen.

I actually planned to hop by Sydney to visit the place and also a couple of friends there, whom I met at last year's DWD. It's much cheaper to do so than to get a ticket to fly from Singapore to Sydney. It costs about S$1200 to do that, but if I were to take a domestic flight from Gold Coast to Sydney, it takes only about an hour, and A$100 (S$120). That's 10 times cheaper!!

Now you must be thinking, what's stopping me? Well, it's my boss. Apparently she is not very happy about it. I don't know why. She keeps saying it's the peak period of our events, and no one should be taking leave. If I want, I should come up with a plan of what I will be doing. It's totally ridiculous.

That's the problem of working for people. You don't get to choose sometimes. Then again, I wonder if it is part of His plan. I did most of the things I could - I asked her twice to reconsider, that I am only taking 2 days leave, and I really want to go Sydney. I prayed to Him to give me wisdom, everyday I asked Him if it is His will, not to let me go. Maybe He doesn't want me to go? Maybe that's why He is keeping this door shut? If it's His will, nothing and no one can stop it.

I must pray more, and ask for His wisdom.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

I have a story to share with you. You might have heard it before, in other versions. I find it very thought-provoking.

There once was a Pastor, who lived in a laid-back village, where he stayed preached in the church. He is a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and always believe that God will be there for him.

One day, it rained. And rained, and rained. There was so much rain that the village soon began to flood. So the rescue team came in and started to evacuate all the villagers out to higher grounds. When the team told the Pastor him to leave, he said, "I am not afraid. I will wait here, for my Lord will come and save me." The team could not do anything and left without him.

The rain continued, and the Pastor had to climb up to the rooftop of the church to avoid the flood waters. There he prayed, "Oh Lord, I know you will not leave me here. I know you will come and save me." As he waited, a small boat came drifting by. "Hey! quick come hop into my boat! The flood is getting worse!" said the man on the boat. Again, the Pastor replied, "I am not afraid. I will wait here, for my Lord will come and save me." The boatman could not do anything and left without him.

The flooding went on, and in a while, even the roof of the church was submerged under water, leaving the Pastor clinging on to the cross, grasping air now and then. 'Oh lord.. please come and save me.. please..' he prayed in his mind. Suddenly, a rope ladder dropped from above him. He looked up, and saw a helicopter. The person in the helicopter signal him to get on to the ladder, but he waved to them and stuck himself to the cross, in hope that his Lord will come save him.

Eventually he drowned and died. When he go to Heaven, he met Jesus Christ. He said angrily, "My Lord! Why didn't you come and save me? I had been a faithful follower and preached to the villagers about You. But why did you leave me to die?!"

Very calmly, Jesus replied, "Who said I left you to die? I heard your prayer.. I sent the rescue team when the flood was coming. Then I sent a boatman to you. Eventually I sent you a helicopter to save you. Now, think again. Did I not try to save you?"

A lot of times, Jesus sends messengers to deliver His words. We just have to alert enough to keep a lookout out and take note. We always say He doesn't hear out prayers, He always leave us on the lurch when we need Him most. But we know it is not true. He ALWAYS hears our prayers. He ALWAYS answers our prayers. Fact is, do we even know what we are praying? Most of the time, we just pray because we want something for that moment. The next, it's at the back of our minds already.

If we want something really badly, we will take note of every opportunity, cos Jesus always drop hints. He is always guiding us, talking to us - be it through our own voice or through other people. He is always here for us.

So the next time you pray for something, make sure you know what you are praying for. Don't just pray out of your own desires. Pray out of your love for Him, to serve Him, to glorify Him.
