You are The Empress

Beauty, happiness, pleasure, success, luxury, dissipation.

The Empress is associated with Venus, the feminine planet, so it represents,
beauty, charm, pleasure, luxury, and delight. You may be good at home
decorating, art or anything to do with making things beautiful.

The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. While the Magician is the primal spark, the idea made real, and the High Priestess is the one who gives the idea a form, the Empress is the womb where it gestates and grows till it is ready to be born. This is why her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Even so, the Empress is more Demeter, goddess of abundance, then sensual Venus. She is the giver of Earthly gifts, yet at the same time, she can, in anger withhold, as Demeter did when her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped. In fury and grief, she kept the Earth barren till her child was returned to her.

Fly Away - Corrinne May

"When will you be home?" she asksas we watch the planes take off
We both know we have no clear answer to where my dreams may lead
She's watched me as i crawled and stumbled
As a child, she was my world
And now to let me go, I know she bleeds
and yet she says to me

You can fly so high
Keep your gaze upon the sky
I'll be prayin every step along the way
Even though it breaks my heart to know we'll be so far apart
I love you too much to make you stay
Baby fly away

Autumn leaves fell into spring time and
SIlver-painted hair
Daddy called one evening saying"We need you. Please come back"
When I saw her laying in her bed
Fragile as a child
Pale just like an angel taking flight
I held her as I cried

You can fly so high
Keep your gaze upon the sky
I'll be prayin every step along the way
Even though it breaks my heart to know we'll be so far apart
I love you too much to make you stay
Baby fly away
ohh...
I love you too much to make you stay
Baby fly away

L.O.V.E. - Olivia Ong

L is for the way you look at me
O is for the only one I see
V is very, very extraordinary
E is even more than anyone that you adore
Love is all that I can give to you
Love is more than just a game for two
Two in love can make it
Take my heart but please don't break it
Love was made for me and you

Attitude

This is adapted from one of my church sermon I attended. It's about the POWER OF POSITIVE THINKING & ATTITUDE.

You can have the CHOICE to determine what attitude you want to have toward a thought, a circumstance, you LIFE.

LIFE is all about 10% WHAT happens to us and 90% HOW we respond to it. Attitude is that string that keeps us going or cripples our process.

Many times we we focus on the misfortunes in our life, rhather that concentrating on what we have at hand and make the best out of it.

The greatest waste of energy = The energy wasted fighting the INEVITABLE!

4 Things to do with POSITIVE ATTITUDE

1) Positive attitudes turns OBSTACLES into OPPORTUNITIES
[Phil 1:12-13]
"Now I (Paul) want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel. As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guards and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ"

Paul was imprisoned and chained because he was a follower of Jesus Christ, but he still looked at the situation optimistically. Instead of resenting, he took this opportunity to shared the gospel with the prison guards, who had to guard him throughout the day. Slowly, the guards were one by one moved and their hearts were touched.

Q: What is the difference between an Obstacle and an Opportunity?
A: Our Attitude towards it.
"Every opportunity has difficulty, every difficulty has opportunity"

2) Positive attitude is CONTAGIOUS
[Phil 1:14]
"Because of my(Paul) chains, most of the brothers in the Lord have been encouraged to speak the Word of God more courageously and fearlessly"

3) Positive attitude doesn't allow the situation to determine one's reaction
[Phil 2:14]
"Do all things without grumbling or disputing"

The more we lament and complain about why we are doing this or why is that happening to us and not others, the more negative energy we accumulate. It will not do us any good nor the people around us. What's worse is, it WILL NOT improve the situation.

On the other hand, the more we take things graciously and do as we are told, the more we look at it positively and thus take it as a chance that God is helping us to learn and grow. We get the things done and we feel happy.

ABILITY is what we are capable of doing.
MOTIVATION determines what we do.
POSITIVE ATTITUDE determins how well we do.

4) Positive Attitude trusts in all situation
[Phil 3:1a]
"Finally, my brothers, rejoice in the Lord!"

[ Phil 4:1, 4-7]
"Therefore, my brothers, you whom I love and long for, my joyand crown, that is how you should stand firm in the Lord, dear friends!
"Rejoice in the Lord always, I will say it again: Rejoice! Let Your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, bit in everything, by prayer and petition. With Thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your heart and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Blame never affirms, it assaults
Blame never restores, it wounds
Blame never solves, it complicates
Blame never unites, it seperates
Blame never smiles, it frowns
Blame never forgives, it rejects
Blame never forgets, it remembers
Blame never builds, it destroys

BLAME = Aggressive way of negative energy

SELF-PITY = Passive way of negative energy

When we are facing self-pity, give our problems to God. He will solve for you. Just leave it to Him.

God is on your side. He will turn all things to positive.

[Acts 16:25]
"But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise of God, and the prisoners listening to them."

Despite the fact they are imprisoned, Paul and Silas were still spreading the gospel, sharing with anyone who were there listening. They had no fear nor worries, as they have cast all of them to God. They know He will come for them.

[Acts 16:26-28]
"Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundatios of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everybody's chains came loose. The jailer woke up, and he saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself because he thought the prisoners had escaped. But Paul shouted, "Don't harm yourself! We are all here!"

All things can happen, is because of Faith, we have positive attitude. It is because we know that what we do, God will know, hence we are always optimistic.

Life is short. It is not worth to be bogged down with unnecessary worries and fears. In all we do and all that that happen to us, there is a reason behind it. God loves us and He has his reasons to let us go through everything in life.

So, what is your attitude towards your circumstance, your life?

Private Strategic Partnership by Jay Abraham
22th - 26th Jan 2007, Bali
I managed to copy over the photos we took during the trip in Bali. We had participants from all over, mainly Japan. This was a very high-end program - USD 25,000. So we decided to hold it at the exotic Bali, so the participants can enjoy while they learnt.
You must be wondering, why would anyone spend so much money to attend a program? Totally crazy! Well, if you are a business owner, you will understand. Jay Abraham is such a genius, that he will analyse your company situation for you and help you make profits you can never imagine, by simply using ideas that seem so trivial, yet effective. All the participants left the program satisfied. And we all know that Japanese have very high standards, for them to give praises and testimonials, we can be sure that Jay Abraham is truely the World's No. 1 Marketing Guru.
Set up day - We were all welcomed by the hotel staff at the airport with fresh frangipani! See all the smiles on our faces!

Me & Yenny - My best shopping kaki in Bali. The shops owners couldn't "chop my vegetable head", cos I had a true blue Indonesian with me! I practically didn't have to open my mouth to get a good bargain!

Dinner at Jimbaran Beach - Meet the boss (right) of Sheng Tai Toys, where all the Power Ranger and Digimons figurines come from.

Finally Finished! - All the Japanese translators having fun with us after 5 days of hard work!

Akio is a Hot Fav! - The picture says it all...

All tired - Preparing to go for Balinese massage

Pretty Pretty.. - Dinner by the beach at Hotel Intercontinental.

How can there not be games and forfeits at a party? Look at the cream on Yenny's face..

Now it's my turn. I had chocolate, tiramisu and cream..

I look like I could keep the food to my mouth.. lol

Here are the culprits who gave me did this to me..

Don't make it the air that you breathe

I was talking to my buddy this afternoon and I asked him, "How do you tell if a guy is in love with a girl?"

He described the state as "drunk" - drunk with love. Doing things that he doesn't normally do, like queueing for hello kitty, chatting over the phone till wee hours in the morning.

But of cos, this is all subjective, depending on the circumstances and several factors. Different people express their love in different ways.

We cannot always let our heart overtake our thoughts. It is good sometimes, but doing too much is not good. We got to think with our brain, and stay rational. Our - women's especially - emotions tend to blow things up when the matter is pretty simple and small. For intance, we are in an early stage of a relationship, we are in constant contact with each other. Once either one or both get busy, we get lesser time to contact. This might lead to a feeling of negligence. Cos a large amount of Oxytocin is produced when we are in love, and it gets addictive. So we get withdrawal symptoms when the addiction kicks in. That is when we start doing silly things to get attention. That is when our emotions overtake our rational minds.

What I am trying to say here is, don't take love as the air you breathe in, and dont depend on it for survival, cos with or without it, life still goes on. Life can still be great, there are still many other things out there that need your attention. Keep yourselves occupied, after all, it can keep you away from all those irrational thoughts.

If you know that your partner loves you, stick to it, believe it, don't doubt it. God does not send you a partner to stress you out. He send him/her to help you out, to help you grow. He wants you two to grow and learn together.

It might not be easy, when you have so much emotions running through your mind. So when you start having irrational thoughts, STOP!!! Think about red light.. picture that STOP!!! And slowly think things through, it might not be as bad as you think it is. As I mentioned, sometimes, our emotions magnifies the situation, till it's so LARGE that we cannot handle it. But it is not entirely true.

So remember..to think rationally..

P/S: This is adapted from the conversation between my buddy and me. I felt it is very meaningful. And I hope to spread this message across to as many readers as possible. =)

Three stages of relationship

Dependence, Independence, Interdependence

In the beginning of a relationship, a couple will tend to be more dependent on each other, a period we call the "honeymoon" period. A period where everything and moment is like a fantasy, a fairytale.

We would not be tired of each other's company, even if it's for the whole day we are together. It just doesn't get enough. Every moment is a wonderful moment. Whatever we do, it doesn't matter, just as long as we are doing it together.

After being together for a while, when honeymoon is over, we get busy with our own stuff and life. We become independent. That is, the main focus of our life is not so much about each other anymore. We focus on our career, our intellectual and spiritual growth.

Gradually, we growth to be interdependent. Even though we do our own things, we are still dependent on each other. That is the greatest achievement a couple can have being together.

Most of us get to the first stage. It is easy. It is the start of all relationship. The challenging part is the second, and ultimately the third. Many cannot grow independent as a couple. Either one will become more independent than the other. That is when problems arise. The dependent one tries to get more attention. He/she can do anything and everything just to get the attention. He/she do silly things, crazy things. He/she doesn't realise that this can be detrimental to the relationship.

We all see many happily married couples, and we wonder, 'What is it about their relationship that make them stay so happily together? What have they done? What do they do? What do they say?' This is a stage we call interdependence. The things we do individually affects our partner. We are mutually dependent on each other, very subtly, we become part of each other's lives, and we can't do without our partner. Very subtly - emotionally, intellectually, spiritually.

My friend Joseph told me, one of the aspects to a long-lasting relationship is to grow together constantly. Only growth can spur each other to move forward. We have a common goal. We understand each other's goal. We help each other to achieve our goal.

So, which stage are you and your partner at?
I just got home. 11th May (yesterday) was my birthday. Somehow I didn't feel any special. In fact, I almost forgot. Was it due to my busy work schedule, or that I am getting old?

Well, as usual, I spent the day at work. I was feeling a little down. Wonder if it was due to the work stress. Or perhaps due to something else?

Can't wait to see my next hp bill. Bet it's going to cost a bomb from all those overseas calls and smses. Last month's bill choked up to S$200 in just 3 days in Australia. Can you imagine the next bill? I was there for about 9 days. And I continued to sms and called to overseas after my return to Singapore. I should really cut down. Afterall, I won't be able to claim it from company.

Sigh. Sad and heavy day for me. So much so that I just feel like crying out loud. No one can understand the agony I'm going through except my Lord. He knows why I am behaving this way.

I realise to be Yan Ping is just too hard to survive in SR. Yan Ping is a very gentle and feminine lady actually, and very quiet and soft-spoken too. This characters are not really favourable in SR. SR prefer CoolCat. One who is firm, masculine, loud and direct. Just like a man.

I shall be CoolCat. I shall follow the Word of the Lord at this time of loss.
